Colts Drum and Bugle Corps (tidigare känd som Junior Dukes , Legionnaires och Colt .45 ) är en världsklass konkurrenskraftig junior trumma och buglekår baserad i Dubuque, Iowa . Colts är medlem i Drum Corps International , tillsammans med deras matarkår, Colt Cadets , som deltar i öppen klass.
Historia
Kåren grundades 1963 som Junior Dukes, en juniorkår till Dukes of Dubuque, en seniorkår. Junior Dukes sponsrades av den lokala American Legion- posten och deltog i parader. Kåren uppträdde i två år under det namnet innan hertigarna av Dubuque upplöstes 1965. Efter upplösningen av seniorkåren byttes namnet till legionärerna och 1966 började kåren ta emot kvinnliga medlemmar. År 1967 var kåren tillräckligt stor för att skapa en matarkår känd som kadetterna, och legionärerna började turnera i regionala VFW- tävlingar.
1969 bytte kåren namn igen, då till Colt .45. 1971 började kåren tävla i VFW nationella tävlingar och började stiga i graderna, och tjänade så högt som 5:e plats 1973. Samma år gick Colt .45 med i Drum Corps International och tog 28:e plats i sin första mästerskapstävling. Tre år senare, med hänvisning till den negativa kopplingen till både skjutvapen och Colt 45-öl , släpptes ".45" och den nuvarande namnkonventionen antogs.
The Colts fortsätter att tävla som medlem i Drum Corps International och tjänade sin första finalplats 1993. De fick sin högsta ranking 1995 på 9:e plats och har sedan dess gjort totalt 9 finalplaceringar, senast 2022.
