Herpetopom är ett släkte av havssniglar , marina snäckor från familjen Chilodontaidae .
Förr i tiden behandlades detta släkte ofta som ett undersläkte till Euchelus . Detta släkte kan dock visa sig vara ett sammansatt taxon, med tanke på mångfalden av skalformerna.
Beskrivning
Skalet har en turbinat-konisk form som i Euchelus . Spiran är förhöjd . Operculum är multispiral som i en typisk Trochus och med fler, mindre snabbt expanderande virvlar jämfört med Euchelus . Arter i detta släkte har vanligtvis två tänder, sammanfogade av en U-formad skåra, där columella och basaläpparna förenas.
