Loxoptygus är ett släkte av afrikanska taranteller som först beskrevs av Eugène Louis Simon 1903. Från och med mars 2020 innehåller det två arter, som finns i Etiopien : L. coturnatus och L. ectypus . Den togs bort från synonymen Phoneyusa och anses vara en senior synonym till Loxoptygella .
