Cyrtophora , tältnätsspindlarna , är ett släkte av klotvävarspindlar som först beskrevs av Eugène Simon 1895. Även om de tillhör familjen "klotvävare", bygger de inte klotvävar. Deras tältliknande, mycket komplexa icke-klibbiga väv anses ibland vara en föregångare till den förenklade orb-väven. Dessa banor är inriktade horisontellt, med ett nätverk av stödtrådar ovanför dem. Dessa spindlar lever ofta i kolonier. Honor har en kroppslängd på mestadels cirka 10 millimeter (0,39 tum) lång. Vissa medlemmar, inklusive Cyrtophora cicatrosa , uppvisar förmågan att ändra färg snabbt.
En kleptoparasitisk spindel ( Argyrodes fissifrons ) visade sig leva i ett mutualistiskt förhållande med Cyrtophora -arter. Några av arterna anses vara sociala spindlar , som bygger stora strukturer där avkommans territorier är byggda längs kanten av modernätet.
