San Diego Hall of Champions var ett amerikanskt multisportmuseum i San Diego , Kalifornien fram till dess stängning i juni 2017. Hall of Champions inrymde Breitbard Hall of Fame - San Diegos sporthall of fame - som nu ligger vid Petco Park .
Breitbard Hall of Fame
Breitbard Hall of Fame grundades 1953 av Robert Breitbard. Det hedrar idrottare som antingen (1) har utmärkt sig i sport i San Diego eller (2) är infödda San Diegans som har utmärkt sig i sport på andra håll. Från och med 2008 har 117 idrottare blivit invalda, vilket representerar 20 sporter: bågskytte; badminton och tennis; baseboll; basketboll; bowling; boxning; dykning och simning; fotboll; konståkning; golf; hockey; hästkapplöpning; skytteskicklighet; motorsport; stavhoppning; segling; skateboardåkning; fotboll; friidrott; triathlon; och brottning. Nya medlemmar valdes in i februari vid Salute to the Champions-middagen.
Behörighet
För att vara berättigad till inskrivning måste kandidaten uppfylla dessa kriterier:
- En idrottare, tränare eller speciell bidragsgivare hemma i San Diego county eller som representerade en San Diego high school, ett universitet, en idrottsorganisation eller ett professionellt lag
- Professionella idrottare som inte är hemmahörande i San Diego county måste ha tillbringat minst fyra år av sin karriär i San Diego
- Idrottare måste vara pensionerade i minst 2 år eller vara minst 50 år
- Coacher och bidragsgivare behöver inte vara pensionerade, utan måste ha arbetat i minst 7 år inom sitt område
