Catholic Education, an Irish Schools Trust (CEIST) är förvaltarorganet för 107 katolska frivilliga gymnasieskolor i Irland .
Historia
I Irland etablerades majoriteten av gymnasieskolorna och kontrollerades av ett antal romersk-katolska religiösa församlingar . I slutet av 1900-talet var dessa församlingar i allvarlig nedgång och de beslutade att slå samman sina resurser i ett antal kollektiva skolledningsgrupper som kallas för truster.
CEIST bildades 2007 för att bedriva utbildningsarbete i fem religiösa församlingar:
- Daughters of Charity
- Presentation Sisters
- Sisters of the Christian Retreat
- Sisters of Mercy
- Missionaries of the Sacred Heart .
Organisation
CEIST CLG bildades i maj 2007. De religiösa församlingarna utsåg 16 CEIST-medlemmar - 11 religiösa och fem lekmän. Styrelsen har 12 ledamöter - tre religiösa och nio lekmän.
Den dagliga ledningen är fortfarande varje skolas lednings ansvar, i enlighet med Education Act 1998. Skolorna stöds av förvaltarna från det centrala kontoret.
Det för närvarande [ när? ] övervakar cirka 58 000 elever och 4 000 lärare och administrativ personal. För närvarande, [ när? ] var sjätte elev på andra nivån i Irland går på en CEIST-gymnasium.
