2001 VIP Petfoods GT Production Showroom Showdown
års VIP Petfoods GT Production Showroom Showdown var ett uthållighetslopp för australiensiska GT Production Cars. Evenemanget arrangerades på Mount Panorama Circuit , Bathurst, New South Wales, Australien lördagen den 6 oktober 2001 som ett supportevenemang på programmet för 2001 V8 Supercar 1000 . Efter fyra år av loppet som ett tre timmars tidsbegränsat lopp, kortades loppet ner till två timmars varaktighet.
Loppet vanns av Graham Alexander och John Woodberry som körde en Mitsubishi Lancer RS-E Evolution V vann loppet med 16 sekunder före Ford Mustang SVT Cobra RA som kördes av John Bowe och Chris Dunn.
Klassstruktur
Bilar tävlade i följande fem klasser:
- Klass A: Högpresterande bilar - Under $150 000
- Klass B: Touring-sportbilar - Under $80 000
- Klass C: V8 produktionsbilar - under 50 000 USD
- Klass D: Sexcylindriga produktionsbilar
- Klass E: Fyrcylindriga produktionsbilar
