Verdell Primeaux

Verdell Primeaux är en Oglala , Yankton / Ponca -sångare och låtskrivare i indiankyrkans tradition av peyotesånger , ackompanjerad av skallra och vattentrumma . Han och Johnny Mike ( Navajo ) är kända som duon Primeaux och Mike .

Primeaux föddes 1966 i Scottsbluff, Nebraska till Pine Ridge Oglala Lakota Nation, South Dakota , och är son till den kända peyotesångaren Francis Primeaux Senior och sonson till Harry Primeaux. Han bor för närvarande i Many Farms, Arizona med sin fru och sina barn.

Hans musikpartner, Mike, kommer ursprungligen från Kitsili, Black Mesa, Arizona . Mikes modersklan är Near the Water People och på sin fars sida representerar han Salt-klanen. Han har två barn, Rachael och Shane, och bor i Chinle, Arizona .

Prestationer

• 2002 Grammy Award med Johnny Mike, medartist, för bästa indianska musikalbum, Bless The People - Harmonized Peyote Songs, Jack Miller, ingenjör, Giuli Doyle & Robert Doyle, producenter.
