Reaching for the World är det femte albumet av den amerikanska sånggruppen Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes . Detta, deras debutalbum för ABC Records- etiketten, spelades in 1976 och släpptes 1977. Detta är det första albumet utan Teddy Pendergrass , David Ebo var hans ersättare. Även Dwight Johnson och William Spratley gick med i Blue Notes. När den släpptes nådde den #56 i USA:s Billboard 200 och #15 på de amerikanska R&B-listorna. Den ledande singeln var "Reaching For The World" som nådde #74 i US Billboard 100 och #6 i US R&B Charts. Sedan nådde "After You Love Me, Why Do You Leave Me", som presenterade Sharon Paige, #102 på US Billboard 100 och #15 på US R&B-listorna. Hostage Parts 1&2 valdes som den sista singeln, men misslyckades med att lista.
