South Australian Living Artists Festival ( SALA , eller SALA Festival ) är en statlig bildkonstfestival med öppen tillgång som äger rum under augusti i södra Australien .

SALA har ett utbud av cirka 600 arenor inklusive gallerier och icke-traditionella utrymmen som kaféer, bokhandlar och kyrkogårdar, som visar alla former av bildkonst under en månad lång period i augusti varje år.

Organisation

SALA-festivalen etablerades 1998 som ett initiativ från Australian Commercial Galleries Association, SA Branch, för att främja och fira bildkonstnärer i södra Australien. Dess mål är att utöka publiken för levande artister i södra Australien, med en policy för inkludering som tillåter alla artister på alla nivåer och som arbetar i vilket medium som helst att vara en del av festivalen.

Ursprungligen kallad South Australian Living Artists Week, dess namn ändrades till SALA Festival 2002.

SALA-festivalen är en ideell organisation som förlitar sig på statligt stöd, privat sponsring och inkomster för att investera tillbaka i södra australiensiska artister.

South Australian Living Artist Publication

South Australian Living Artist Publication är ett pris som lanserades 1999 som en del av SALA-festivalen. Med finansiering från den södra australiensiska regeringen , är en publikation (bok) beställd och skriven om en ledande sydaustralisk konstnär eller hantverkare med potential för nationell och internationell marknadsföring och publicerad av Wakefield Press . Den första mottagaren av South Australian Living Artist Publication var Annette Bezor . Den senaste mottagaren vars publicering kommer att publiceras 2023 är Helen Fuller.
