Lycoteuthinae är en underfamilj av bläckfiskar från familjen Lycoteuthidae . De finns i tropiska och subtropiska vatten. De kännetecknas av att de har ovala fotoforer på tentakler, ögonglober och inälvor hos alla arter och på armar, huvud, mantel och fenor hos vissa. Vissa arter visar också stark sexuell dimorfism . Underfamiljen innehåller alla arter som klassificeras under Lycoteuthidae, förutom Lampadioteuthis megaleia som skiljer sig från Lycoteuthins genom att ha en hektokotyliserad arm hos män.
