John Winton
John Pratt , pseudonym John Winton (3 maj 1931 i London – 27 april 2001) var en engelsk författare och dödsrunare , efter en karriär i Royal Navy där han steg till Lieutenant-Commander . Han föddes i London och tjänstgjorde i Koreakriget och under Suezkrisen . Medan han fortfarande var i marinen, skrev han den komiska romanen We Joined the Navy , med karaktären "The Artful Bodger". Flera andra romaner och ett antal facklitteratur om sjöfartsämnen följde, inklusive en biografi om amiral John Jellicoe, 1st Earl Jellicoe . Pratt tjänstgjorde också i 14 år som nekrolog för The Daily Telegraph .
