Bakgrund
Låten komponerades och spelades in ursprungligen av det australiensiska bandet Flash and the Pan (låtskrivar- och producerteamet av ex- Easybeats Harry Vanda och George Young), och inkluderades på deras eponyma debutalbum från 1979 .
1981 täcktes den av Grace Jones , som inkluderade den på Nightclubbing , hennes andra Compass Point- album och senare släpptes som den sista singeln från skivan. Låten släpptes i olika remixer, bland dem en 7:30 12"-mix inklusive ytterligare sångöverdubbningar, släpptes först på CD 2014 på deluxe-utgåvan av Nightclubbing. B- sidan , "Peanut Butter", krediteras Compass Point All Stars , var faktiskt en instrumental dubversion av " Pull Up to the Bumper ", som inte var tillgänglig på CD förrän 2014 då hennes album Nightclubbing remastrades. "Walking in the Rain" ingick i Jones musikdokumentär A One Man Show , och en ögonblicksbild från videon användes senare som omslag till 1985 års återutgåva av Warm Leatherette .
