Young Oon Kim (1914–1989) var en ledande teolog inom Unification Church och dess första missionär till USA .

Karriär

Kim var professor i religion vid Ewha University i Seoul , Sydkorea . Efter att hon gått med i Unification Church skickade kyrkogrundaren Sun Myung Moon henne till USA som missionär i januari 1959. På 1960-talet, medan hon var missionär i Oregon och Kalifornien , arbetade hon för att främja Unification Churchs teologi till vanliga kristna kyrkor. Hon var också den första personen som översatte den gudomliga principen , den grundläggande läroboken i Unification Church-undervisningen, från koreanska till engelska. Från 1975 till 1988 var hon professor i systematisk teologi vid Unification Theological Seminary i Barrytown, New York , och den första Unification Church-medlemmen på fakulteten där.
