Timothy Abraham Curtis var guvernör för Bank of England från 1837 till 1839. Han hade varit vice guvernör från 1834 till 1837. Han ersatte James Pattison som guvernör och efterträddes av John Reid . Curtis tjänstgöring som guvernör inträffade under paniken 1837 . I juni 2020 utfärdade Bank of England en offentlig ursäkt för Curtis, bland andra anställdas inblandning i slavhandeln efter utredningen av Center for the Study of the Legacies of British Slave-ownership vid UCL .
