Sphictostethus är ett släkte av pepsinspindelgetingar som har en spridd södra Stillahavsutbredning som omfattar Chile , östra Australien , Tasmanien och Nya Zeeland , och är mycket lik utbredningen av de södra bokarna av släktet Nothofagus . Typarten är S. gravesii , men släktets största mångfald finns i Australien, särskilt i den mer fuktiga och tempererade sydost, med en art, S. insularis , endemisk till Lord Howe Island .
