Jane Hawkes FSA är en brittisk konsthistoriker. Hon är professor i konsthistoria vid University of York med specialisering på konst och skulptur under den anglosaxiska perioden.

Karriär

Hawkes avslutade sin doktorsexamen finansierad av ett British Academy- stipendium på "Iconography of Anglo-Saxon sculpture of the pre-Viking period in the North of England". Därefter arbetade hon på ett 2-årigt post-doktorandstipendium vid University of Newcastle . Hon har undervisat vid universiteten i Newcastle, Edinburgh och National University of Ireland vid University College Cork . Hon är en av medutredarna i projektet Corpus of Anglo-Saxon Stone Sculpture .

Hon valdes in som fellow i Society of Antiquaries i december 2017.

I april 2018 höll Hawkes The Jennifer O'Reilly Memorial Lecture vid University of Cork .
