( BMST) ( AMA Land Speed Grand Championship ) är ett motorcykellopp för landhastighetsracing som hålls årligen på Bonneville Speedway, USA. Evenemanget är sanktionerat av American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) och Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). AMA-certifierade amerikanska nationella hastighetsrekord och FIM-certifierade världsrekord i landhastighet skapas i detta evenemang. Evenemanget innehåller motorcyklar från 50-cc till 3000-cc, såväl som elektriska klasser.
Evenemanget har hållits årligen sedan 2004 efter Speed Week i slutet av augusti före Labor Day .
Historia
2021
17 nya FIM-världsrekord och 55 nationella AMA-rekord sattes under det årliga evenemanget 2021 BMST 28 augusti-2 september. Noterbara bidrag inkluderar Jaron Tyner och Casper Wyomings Tyrell Marlow som satte nya rekord på en Susuki Tl1000 och en Ducati 999 sidvagn, " Coconut Express" och Zlock racing som satte tre nya FIM- världsrekord. SheEMoto-priset delades ut till Sherry Soliz som också tjänade ett AMA National-rekord efter att ha slagit ton (100 MPH) på sin fars BMW.
2020
Evenemanget ställdes in på grund av covid 19- pandemirisker och restriktioner.
2019
50 nationella AMA- rekord och 10 FIM- världsrekord (i väntan på ratificering) sattes under det årliga evenemanget 24-29 augusti 2019. Team Mobitec blev den första traditionella sit-on eldrivna motorcykeln som slog 200 mph (320 km/h).
2018
2018 hölls det årliga evenemanget 25-30 augusti. 18-åriga Cayla Rivas blev den yngsta kvinnliga föraren att nå en hastighet på 252,901 km/h.
2017
78-åriga Sandy Vetter nådde en hastighet på 160 km/h och körde på en Yamaha 350cc tvåtaktsmotorcykel .
2016
Det årliga evenemanget hölls 26-31 augusti. Valerie Thompson blev den första kvinnliga föraren som körde en motorcykel över 300 mph (480 km/h) och nådde en hastighet på 489,663 km/h.
2015
Evenemanget ställdes in 2015 på grund av regn och resulterande saltsläta förhållanden.
