1998 International League säsong
1998 International League -säsong års ägde rum från april till september 1998.
Buffalo Bisons besegrade Durham Bulls för att vinna ligamästerskapet.
Triple-A omställning och expansion
Fyra nya lag anslöt sig till den internationella ligan 1998. Tre av dessa lag, Buffalo Bisons , Indianapolis Indians och Louisville Redbirds gick med som ett resultat av upplösningen av American Association . Alla tre städerna hade tidigare tävlat i IL någon gång. Ett lag, Durham Bulls blev ett Triple-A expansionslag . Bulls var tidigare ett klass A basebolllag. Som ett resultat av dessa flyttningar utökade IL från 10 lag till 14 lag. En ny division, IL South, bildades. Slutspelet skulle avgöras av de tre divisionsvinnarna och en wild card-vinnare.
