Whitfield-priset
Whitfield -priset (eller Whitfield Book Prize ) är ett pris på £1 000 som årligen delas ut av Royal Historical Society till det bästa verket om ett ämne av brittisk eller irländsk historia som publicerats inom Storbritannien eller Irland under kalenderåret. För att vara berättigad till priset måste boken vara det första historiska verket som publicerats av författaren.
Prisets historia
Priset grundades 1976 efter arv från Archibald Stenton Whitfield. Ursprungligen var priset £400; fem år senare höjdes den till £600. För närvarande är priset £1 000.
