Det grundades 1996 och införlivades som ett 501(c)(3) allmännyttigt företag 1997.

Ventura County Arts Council är den officiella lokala partnern till California Arts Council . Det har strategiska partnerskap med California Department of Education , Ventura County Superintendent of Schools och Ventura County Board of Supervisors.
