Metropolitan and City Police Orphanage

Metropolitan and City Police Orphanage var ett barnhem för barn till officerare i Metropolitan Police och City of London Police . Det grundades den 1 januari 1870 som Metropolitan Police Orphanage, öppnade sin byggnad i Fortescue House i Twickenham följande oktober och utökades till City of London Police 1871. Det flyttade till Wellesley House på Hampton Road, också i Twickenham, 1874 och ett krigsminnesjukhus lades till i dess mark 1923. Barnhemmet stängdes 1937 och överlämnade Wellesley House till Shaftesbury Homes , och Metropolitan and City Police Orphans Fund etablerades i dess ställe. Wellesley House-platsen revs och byggdes om 1971.
