J. Patrick Lewis

J. Patrick Lewis (född 5 maj 1942) är en amerikansk poet och prosaförfattare känd för sina barndikter och andra lätta verser . Han arbetade som professor i nationalekonomi 1974-1998, varefter han ägnade sig heltid åt skrivandet.

Lewis har mottagit 2013 Claudia Lewis Award, 2014 Cybils Award for Poetry, Society of Children Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) Golden Kite Award for Picture Book Text (2002), Ohioana Book Award for Poetry for Young Children (2015) , och andra. Han var mottagare av 2010-11 National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Excellence in Children's Poetry Award, som delades ut vartannat år. Han tjänstgjorde också från 2011-13 som den tredje amerikanska barnpoetpristagaren (nu kallad Young People's Poet Laureate) .
