Ira Berkow

Ira Berkow (född 7 januari 1940 i Chicago, Illinois ) är en amerikansk sportreporter, krönikör och författare. Han delade 2001 Pulitzer-priset för nationell rapportering, som tilldelades personalen på The New York Times för deras serie How Race Is Lived in America .

Berkow tog sin kandidatexamen i engelsk litteratur vid Miami University och sin MA från Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University .

Han var reporter för Minneapolis Tribune , en syndikerad författare, sport- och allmän krönikör och sportredaktör för Newspaper Enterprise Association .

Från 1981 till 2007 var han sportreporter och kolumnist för The New York Times och har skrivit för Esquire, The New York Times Magazine, Art News, Seventeen, Chicago Magazine, The Chicago Tribune Magazine, National Strategic Forum Review, Reader's Digest och Sports Illustrated, bland annat.

Han delade 2001 Pulitzer-priset för nationell rapportering för sin artikel "The Minority Quarterback" i New York Times- serien How Race Is Lived in America. Hans verk har tryckts om eller citerats under sex decennier i de årliga antologierna Best Sports Stories och dess efterföljare Best American Sports Writing, och en kolumn av hans inkluderades i Best American Sports Writing of the Century (1999).
