Bowls karriär
Kelly tävlade i det första World Bowls Championship i Kyeemagh , New South Wales , Australien 1966 och vann en guldmedalj i par med Bert Palm vid evenemanget. Han vann också en guldmedalj i lagtävlingen (Leonard Trophy).
Kelly vann 1965 års fyrspelstitel vid Australian National Bowls Championships när han bowlade för Coogee Bowls Club.
