Gabrielle Wang är en australisk författare och illustratör för barn och unga vuxna baserad i Melbourne. Hennes författarkarriär sträcker sig över 20 år och har producerat mer än 20 böcker.

Biografi

Wang föddes i Melbourne och är en fjärde generation australiensare, hennes förfäder har kommit till Australien under den australiska guldrushen i mitten av 1800-talet. Wang utbildade sig till grafisk formgivare i Melbourne, studerade sedan målning och språk i Taiwan och Kina . Hon föreläste i kinesiska vid RMIT University i Melbourne innan hon skrev på heltid. Hennes arbete är influerat av hennes erfarenheter av att växa upp mellan två kulturer.

Wangs barnroman, A Ghost in my Suitcase , anpassades för scenen av Vanessa Bates från Barking Gecko Theatre och turnerade 2019.

I mars 2022 utsågs hon till Australian Children's Laureate för 2022–2023.
