Fredrik Nelson

Frederick Nelson (1932 – 7 januari 2009) var professor emeritus i maskinteknik vid Tufts University School of Engineering i Medford, Massachusetts , USA. Hans områden av yrkesintresse inkluderade akustik , vibrationer , stötar (mekanik) och rotordynamik . Han skrev eller var medförfattare till mer än 50 artiklar i professionella publikationer. Han skrev en monografi med titeln An Introduction to Rotordynamics som publicerades postumt av SAVIAC . Professor Nelson tog examen från Tufts College of Engineering 1954 och fick sin Ph.D. i tillämpad mekanik från Harvard University 1961. Han började på Tufts-fakulteten 1955. Han var dekanus vid College of Engineering från 1980 till 1994.

Professor Nelson var stipendiat i Acoustical Society of America , stipendiat i American Society of Mechanical Engineers , stipendiat i American Association for the Advancement of Science och en tidigare biträdande redaktör för Applied Mechanics Review.
