Major League Baseball-säsongen 1948 var Chicago White Sox ' 48:e säsong i de stora ligorna, och dess 49:e säsong totalt. De slutade åttonde (sista) i American League med ett rekord på 51–101, 44,5 matcher bakom förstaplatsen Cleveland Indians . Under 114 säsonger har White Sox bara en gång ( 1932 ) haft en sämre vinstprocent. Detta var det första året av många för White Sox TV-sändningar på WGN-TV kanal 9.

Vanlig säsong

Frank Lane var inne på sin första säsong som White Sox general manager . Under de kommande sju åren med White Sox skulle Lane göra 241 affärer. Han skulle få smeknamnen "Trader" Lane och "Frantic Frank".

Den 18 juli slog Pat Seerey fyra homeruns i en match med elva inning mot Philadelphia Athletics . White Sox vann, 12–11.
