Albert Goldbarth

Albert Goldbarth (född 31 januari 1948) är en amerikansk poet . Han har vunnit National Book Critics Circle- priset för "Saving Lives" (2001) och "Heaven and Earth: A Cosmology" (1991), den enda poeten som fått äran två gånger. Han vann också Mark Twain-priset för humoristisk poesi, tilldelat av Poetry Foundation , 2008. Goldbarth är medlem av National Endowment for the Arts och John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation .

Albert Goldbarths poesi är mycket beröm, och han har publicerat flitigt, med mer än 30 samlingar på hans kredit, inklusive poesi och essäer. Han är känd för sin produktiva produktion, sin sällskapliga ton, sina eklektiska intressen och sin distinkta "pratiga" stil. Goldbarth fick sin BA från University of Illinois 1969 och sin MFA från University of Iowa 1971. Goldbarth undervisade vid Cornell University och från 1977 till 1987 vid University of Texas i Austin . Från 1987 till 2018 var han Adelle V. Davis Distinguished Professor of Humanities vid Wichita State University , som inrymmer Goldbarth Archive i Ablah Library.
